Important!!
1. Under International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Regulations all of the practical elements of the basic safety training courses must be covered. What this means is that every delegate MUST be taught to wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment and to use breathing apparatus. All delegates will take part in a practical exercise in a dark, smoke filled fire unit to locate a casualty and to extinguish a live fire. All candidates will also participate in practical exercises in the swimming pool to enter & right a life raft as well as use a manikin for correct CPR training in first aid.
2. Be warned that most other maritime training providers in East Africa are NOT providing the practical training, which is why their costs are lower. If you have not carried out the practical aspects of the training your lack of knowledge will be found out.
3. At IOMTC the Basic Safety Training courses are completed within just one week, which is inline with other maritime training centres in Europe, Middle East, South Africa and Australasia.
